Tyneside Surgical Services (TSS) is an independent health care company based at the new £14 million flagship North East NHS Surgery Centre in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, part of the Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust. The company, however, operates autonomously, established by senior NHS clinicians who have designed a company structure and developed a company ethos that unites the very best aspects of the NHS and the private sector. Characteristically the company has sound clinical and corporate governance and is closely managed by a Director team. Clinical audit and patient satisfaction feedback are key components of service delivery.
TSS provides an extensive range of high-quality, tailored health care services to private patients, NHS patients, businesses and public organisations. The extensive number of consultants working with TSS allows us to provide both general and specialist care. We offer general, colorectal and vascular surgery and specialise in services such as urinary and faecal incontinence, spinal services, rheumatology and cardiology. Our orthopaedic surgeons cover the entire range of orthopaedic conditions including specialist foot and ankle surgery, shoulder and elbow replacements and general hip and knee joint surgery. Breast surgery is frequently performed at the surgery centre and includes reconstruction following mastectomy, in addition breast enhancement and breast reduction procedures are available and performed by the cosmetic surgical team.
The cosmetic surgery division offers a wide range of surgical and non-surgical cosmetic procedures including full facelifts or eyes only, breast operations as described above including uplifts, nose re-shaping, tummy tucks, thigh lifts and liposuction. Removal of lumps and bumps and non-surgical treatments are also available.
As a provider for both the NHS and for the private health care market, we deliver first-class health care for private patients with or without medical insurance and for patients referred to us by the NHS. In addition we offer comprehensive corporate healthcare packages for clients including Northumbria Police Federation and we have recently treated high profile national and international sports players.
