Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon

Mr Lee Longstaff qualified in medicine in 1995 from Cambridge University.

He graduated with First Class honours and a Distinction in surgery. His post-graduate orthopaedic training started at Addenbrooke’s hospital, Cambridge and was then completed in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Following his training in the UK, Mr Longstaff completed an additional 18 months of advanced surgical training in Melbourne and Perth, Australia. This is where he developed a special interest and expertise in hip and knee replacement.

In 2005, Mr Longstaff became a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at the University Hospital of North Durham in 2005. He is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association and the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Mr Longstaff is North East born and bred. He is married to Sarah, a local GP and has 4 young children.

Outside of work, his hobbies include rugby union, reading and the great outdoors.
