Mr Patrick Cullen qualified in medicine in 1979 from Trinity College Dublin.
He gained his surgical fellowship at The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Mr Cullen later completed his doctorate in medicine at Trinity College Dublin. He completed his surgical training in Dublin, Durham, Newcastle-on-Tyne, Carlisle and Melbourne, Australia. Mr Cullen is a full time Consultant Surgeon at the University Hospital of North Durham.
He is a consultant in general surgery with an interest in laparoscopic and vascular surgery. He specialises in the local anaesthetic ‘Closure’ treatment of varicose veins as well as keyhole surgery for gallstones and groin hernias. Mr Cullen’s focus on laparoscopic surgeries are:
